Oh my, but this Italian art glass vase is an incredibly beautiful blue color. The Italians were able to produce this color. The age of this piece is circa 1950.
The vase is 12 ¼” high and 6 1/8” wide at the mouth.
The rim is polished flat.
The pontil is round, indented and polished smooth.
There is a layer of clear glass at the bottom.
The vase is heavy and weighs a few ounces over 6 lbs.
The shape is lovely, either to stand alone and empty as a display piece, or to hold a large bouquet of flowers on a side table.
There are no nicks, chips or cracks. The bottom has a lot of scratches due to age wear, something you want to see on glass to ensure that the glass is older and the dating is correct.
