This is a set of two French art glass condiment holder jars with brass lids. The lids are notched to hold a small spoon. The glass is pink opal, or opaline. The date is circa 1890.
The jars are meant to hold mustard, jam, sugar, or whatever type of condiment one would spoon out.
The jars are 3 ¾” high to the top of finial, 3 1/8” high to the rim and 2 5/8” wide.
One jar has a small chip or flake on the rim, and a small nick on the other side. There are no other chips, nicks or cracks. There are a few air bubbles.
The bottoms are slightly indented and smooth and they show appropriate age wear.
