This is a French Limoges Haviland & Co hard paste porcelain sugar bowl or jar, hand painted with blue forget-me-not flowers, side butterfly handles, and a small flower finial.
Please look at the photos carefully. The butterfly handles show old repairs and each handle has a crack in the porcelain. I point to everything in red in the photos. I realize that the butterfly handles are hard-to-find for Haviland collectors, so I am selling this piece even though it is not perfect.
The sugar is 4 ¼” high and 5” wide from handle-to-handle.
The green underglaze factory mark is H&Co over L. The artist’s signature is in black enamel, and it reads as “L.B.W. to M.W.G. Mar. 19. 1887.” The jar was most likely painted by a skilled artist in the Women’s Art Movement.
There are no other chips, nicks, cracks or crazing.
