This is a Japanese hard paste porcelain trivet, meant to hold a teapot, coffee pot, or hot casserole dish. The date is circa 1911.
The trivet is 5 ¾” wide and 7/8” high.
The shape is one of 8 sides.
The rim has a raised design. The top of the trivet is hand painted with a sailboat scene on water, with a larger sailboat in the foreground and a smaller sailboat in the distance.
There are no chips, nicks, cracks or crazing.
The green mark is number 47 with M in the wreath and Hand Painted above and Nippon below.
