This is a Bohemian Czech art glass decanter with a solid crystal stopper. The stopper is original to the bottle. The date is circa 1940.
The glass is an amethyst purple, deepening in color towards the bottom, and lighter in color at the top. The glass is ridged, with the panels curving slightly towards the bottom. There are four lines in the neck, where every second ridge line goes up to the rim.
The glass at the bottom of the stopper, and inside the neck, are roughened by the glassmaker so that the stopper fits securely. The bottom edge of the stopper has a few pinprick nicks, but no chips.
There is one tiny air bubble inside the rim of the mouth.
The rim is rounded and smooth. The bottom is flat and polished smooth.
There are no chips, cracks or nicks, other than the pinprick nicks on the bottom edge of the stopper. The bottom has some scratches due to wear. There is a tiny bit of residue on the interior bottom.
