This is a small English artist painted and signed vase. The composition is pottery or soft paste porcelain. The region is Staffordshire. The date is circa 1900.
The vase is 5 7/8” high and 3” wide.
The body of the vase is painted with pink-lavender and white flowers with large petals, similar to poppies. The painting is under the final glaze. The artist’s signature is hand written in red, towards the base on the right, and reads as “M Dickinsen.” There are light glares in the photos.
The top of the vase has a raised design around the short neck, all gilded in gold. The mouth is gilded also. There is another raised design around the base, gilded in gold.
The bottom underside of the vase is glazed. Over the glaze is hand enameled in black letter and number combinations: Cp 3513/3; D 6106; and M 242.
There are no chips, nicks, cracks or crazing.
