This is a French blue art glass box dating to the 19th century, circa 1890. The maker is unknown.
The box is 3 1/8” high and 3 3/8” wide.
The glass is blue with a metal hinge. The top of the glass has a colorful mallard duck flying over a fence. There is green grassy foliage. Around the bottom is a circle of white enamel dots.
The bottom is slightly paneled for an optical look.
There are glass bubbles in a few places in the glass.
The pontil is slightly indented and smooth.
There are no nicks, chips or cracks. The metal shows patina and wear, however the hinge works just fine and it snaps closed with a just a tiny space between the top and bottom.
