This is an American art glass vase, circa 1900.
The vase is 10 ½” high and 3” wide at the foot.
The glass is amber or gold. The outer layer is layers of overshot glass, so as to form symmetrical columns on the glass; this is also called glue chip or ice chip. The glass is iridescent and shimmers with shades of red, purple, green and blue.
The rim is polished flat.
The pontil has a deep indentation where the rod was snapped.
The bottom shows age wear. There are no chips, nicks or cracks. Inside the vase there are a few bumps in the glass from the glassmaking process.
