This is an English art glass bowl set firmly inside a silver plated metal stand. The date is circa 1895.
The glass is a smooth satin amberina, shading from ruby red to yellow amber.
It is 3 ½" high to the top of the bowl and 7 ¼" high to the top of the stand. The bowl is 5" wide.
The function is to hold candy or after-dinner mints.
The stand is marked " Made in England EPNS." The stand rests on three round hollow feet.
The rim of the bowl is crimped. The edge is rounded and smooth. The pontil is round, deep and polished smooth.
There are no nicks, chips or cracks. There is some age patina on the silver metal.
