This is a small French cameo art glass vase, and small enough to be considered a miniature. The date is the Art Nouveau Period, circa 1890 to 1910.
The glass is 3 ¾" high and 3" wide.
The piece is not signed by the maker. However the French glassmakers who produced similar glass during this time period are the Patin Cristalleries, Galle and Daum Nancy.
The base glass is the clear white favored by the French glassmakers. The overlay glass is a goldenrod yellow. The front of the vase shows flowers, leaves, stems and buds with a lot of detail. The back of the vase shows a flying dragonfly, and again with detail.
The rim is flat with no beveling. There are a few pinprick nicks on the inside of the mouth that feel like a slight roughness to the fingers and at the base. The bottom of the vase is polished flat and shows age wear.
There are no chips or cracks.
