This is an English rainbow art glass vase. The date is the first part of the 20th century, circa 1910.
The vase is in the shape of a gourd. It is 8 ½" high and 4" wide at the belly.
The colors swirl diagonally upwards around the vase in ribs or panels. If you put your fingers inside the vase you can feel the ribs. The primary rainbow colors are pink (cranberry or pale ruby), blue and yellow. The eyes see the colors blend and it is a magical effect.
The rim is round. The pontil is round, indented, polished, but with the remains of a rod break-off at the bottom of the pontil.
The glass has some air bubbles and fold. On the neck there are some fissures between the ribs that are part of the glassmaking process, due to the ribs getting tighter going towards the top; however one is deep enough to insert a fingernail. There are about five such spots, difficult to see in a photo and difficult to see with the naked eye, but they can be felt with the fingers on the outside of the glass, but not the inside. There is another fissure on the upper body of the glass and again, part of the glassmaking process, so it has been there since circa 1910. There are no chips or nicks.
