This is a Bohemian art glass vase, pale amber, with beautiful hand enameling. The date is circa 1880.
The vase is 7 5/8" high and 3 ½" wide. The shape is cylindrical with a neck.
The hand painted enameled design on the front and back of the vase show the Japanese influence. There is a butterfly hovering in flight over blue grassy leaves and orange blossoms. There is a long woody stem with small white and yellow blossoms. Around the neck are two rows of raised beads. The back of the vase has a spray of pink-lavender flowers.
The rim feels rounded, but it is actually has a narrow flat rim with beveling on each side.
There is gold trim on the rim and foot that is mostly worn away.
There are no nicks, chips or cracks.
The pontil is round, polished and slightly indented.
