518/RL-198
This is a delicate Irish Belleek porcelain small open sugar and a creamer jug or pitcher set. The time period is from the third black mark, circa 1926 to 1946.
The mold or blank is known as Ivy. Vines and leaves of the ivy plant twine gracefully around the sides of each piece. The leaves are highlighted in a pale-yellow glaze luster. The handles are a rope and are also glazed in the same pale-yellow luster, as is the interior of the two pieces.
The creamer or milk jug is 3 ¾” and 2 ½” wide. The open sugar is 1 ¾” high and 4” wide, including the handles. The size is intended to be a demitasse or individual set for a solitary tea.
You can view more Belleek in the Ivy blank in the book “Belleek Irish Porcelain” by Marion Langham, on page 116.
There are no chips, cracks or crazing.
The third black mark is on the bottom of both pieces and shows a dog, castle and harp followed by the word Belleek, followed by a banner with the words Co Fermanagh Ireland followed by a stamp with the Gaelic words Deanta In Eirinn and followed by Reg No 0857.
