This is an art glass decorative wall plaque, made either in America or England. These wall plaques were produced primarily for the artists in the Women’s Art Movement, and they were made in different sizes and shapes. The date is circa 1880 to 1900, and probably closer to 1880.

The plaque is 8 ½” high and 6 5/8” wide.

The underlying glass is white, probably opaline, with a shaded pink casing on top, so two layers of glass.

The top is crimped once and the two sides are folded.

The artist painted a thistle type of plant with green leaves and pale green background foliage. The flying bird is blue and white. There are touches of gold and white enamel on top of the painting on the bird, leaves and flower buds.

The pontil is centered in the back, is small and round, and has roughness.

There is no signature.

There are no chips, nicks or cracks.
