I offer this beautiful and dainty antique Limoges hard paste porcelain whiteware bud vase. It is difficult to find decorative Limoges objects in whiteware (white ware) that are not dinnerware, and so here is one.
The maker is Martial Redon. The vase is 7 ¼” high and 3 1/4” wide at the belly. The date is circa 1891 to 1896.
The top has reticulated spacings. The two handles are circular and delicate.
The top edge has a small area on both sides that was glazed over at the factory, so is smooth to the touch, but has a tiny black age spot at the top that can be felt. I don’t know how else to describe it. It is not a repair, but looks like it was made this way and the workers glazed over the lines, but did not quite get the last bit at the very top. There are closeup photos for you to view the spot.
The vase is marked on the bottom M R over France in green, which is the maker’s mark.
There is estate dirt on the bottom and the interior bottom. There is no crazing, chips, nicks or cracks, other than the odd little thing at the top left.
