This is a petite art glass studio vase. It is most likely American, West Coast. There is an acclaimed school for glassblowers in Seattle, and many of the graduates settle up and down the West Coast, near the Pacific Ocean, and open their own studios. The vase is signed on the bottom and I believe it is dated May 1993. Or maybe it isn’t a date but just a bunch of numbers.
The vase is 3 3/8” high and 3 1/4” wide at the belly.
The shape is round with a flared mouth. The edge of the mouth is round and smooth.
The glass shows as green in some light and blue in another light. The outside is coated with an iridescent chemical that gives a pattern and shifting colors.
There are no chips, nicks or cracks. The exterior coating has some white on it towards the bottom that doesn’t wash off, so I assume it is part of the glassmaking process.
The bottom is ground smooth with a small round indented polished pontil.
There are two signature marks etched in the glass on the bottom. I think the first one reads as S0593HY. The second one reads as EBO.
There are light glares in the photos.
