This is a huge piece of art glass made in Hovmantorp, Sweden. The glassblower is R. Strand. The carver is L. Bornesson. The date is circa 1970.

The glassblower produced a lot of smaller pieces currently found on the market today, like paperweights. This piece is rare because of the size. It is 12 ¼” long, 8” high and 3 ¾” wide; it weighs 21 pounds.

The color is a blue-green. It will show as a light teal in some light, and a deep green in another light. The shape is typical of this glassmaker and is a large glacier, with the front smoothed and the sides and back cut to look like a chunk of ice or glacier.

The front shows a man, a logger, rolling logs with a long tool.

The background cloth I used shows through the glass.

This is a beautiful piece of glass. It would great as part of the décor near one in a Zoom call.

Because of the weight, the buyer will need to pay for shipping.

I can’t find any chips or nicks, but because of how the glass is shaped, there could be a flake and I can’t tell. I do not think there are any. There are a few scratches. There is still some estate dirt in the crevasses.
