This is a German hard paste porcelain plate. The plate is not marked by the maker, so the maker is unknown. The date is circa 1880.
The plate is 9”.
There are six wells for the oysters or shellfish and a center well for lemon, butter or sauce.
Between the wells the blank is irregular and colored brown to simulate the outside of the oyster shell. Three wells are shaded pale gray and three wells are shaded pink. The sauce well is salmon pink. Each oyster well has a transfer design of a shellfish or sea life.
There are no nicks, chips or cracks. There is a little wear to the color on the ridge around the sauce well.
