This is a small Bohemian Czech vase that is quite unusual. The date is circa 1900.
The vase is 5 ¾” high and 2 ¾” wide at the lower body.
The glass is a ruby red that shades darker towards the bottom. The interior glass is yellow-green and I believe it is Vaseline glass. There is an outer layer of clear glass.
The shape is gourd-like with bulb bottom and a squat neck that leads to a goblet-like mouth. The rim is polished flat. The bottom shows a ring wear around the edge; the middle has an indentation but no obvious polished pontil.
When you look down into the interior of the vase, you can see easily through all the layers of glass. The color combination is quite striking.
There are no nicks, chips or cracks.
