This is a Bohemian Czech art glass box with a hinged lid. The date is circa 1890.
The box is of yellow and white glass swirled together, a type of glass produced in Bohemia around 1890.
The box is about 4 ¾” high and about 5” wide, which makes this a larger box, not huge, but bigger than medium.
The box is put on a metal stand, brass probably, and the feet are round metal circles with an attached metal flower. There is age wear and tarnish on the metal.
The lid and bottom are edged in metal, with a hinge in the back and a fastener in the front. The lid is not snug to the bottom on one side.
There is a design of yellow enameling on the sides and lids. The enamel appears to be edged in gold, which really doesn’t show as gold but as a darker color. Originally the design on the lid had a design of a spider web in gold over the yellow enamel, however the spider web shows only remnants of the designs. There is a darker color in areas next to the yellow enamel on the lid also.
There are no chips, nicks or cracks.
The bottom is smooth with a slight indentation in the middle.
