This is a Japanese hard paste porcelain trivet, meant to hold a teapot, coffee pot, or hot casserole dish. The date is circa 1911.
The trivet is 6 ½” wide and 7/8” high.
The bottom edge has an irregular scallop. The top is flat so as to accommodate the pot or dish.
The trivet is hand painted. There are green bands around the top with black geometric lines. There are pink and yellow designs outlined in gold with touches of red and green. There are more designs in the same colors.
The top has gold and color wear due to use over the years. The gold trim shows some fading.
There are no nicks, chips, cracks or crazing. There are a few tiny glaze dimples.
The green mark is M in the wreath with Hand Painted above and Nippon below.
