This is a small cranberry or pale ruby art glass pitcher, produced by one of the American glassmakers. The date is circa 1900.
The pitcher, or it can be used as a vase, is 5 1/8” high and 5 ½” wide at the belly.
The glass is ribbed, which you can feel from the inside. The handle is applied clear glass. The rim is round.
The pontil is round, indented and polished. Around the pontil the area is ground and polished and formed into a pattern, so that the pitcher sits solid without the ribs causing an imbalance.
There are some air bubbles. I show a large one in a close-up photo, in the interior neck, to the left of the handle. There are no chips, nicks or cracks. There is wear on the bottom due to age.
