So many of these beautiful Gold watch chains have been sold for there scrap value that I am always very pleased to buy one, sympathetically clean and offer for sale. This item is very comfortable to wear. Looks especially smart. Also, look fantastic with jeans, blouses and tee shirts. It is very tactile and easy to use.
This double pocket watch chain, or also name as a ‘Double Albert’, is of an unusual form. Over the 50 years I have been buying and selling Antiques I have had many Gold Watch chains, but I have not had this design before. The 5mm wide curb link chain appears to be made of a continuous length, being 18, 3/4” long of rose coloured 9ct gold.
A Double Albert whose link ends are joined together to form a neck chain. A gold ring, size 5/6mm dia., was placed to run freely all around it. This allows the wearer to choose the position of the conjoined sprung loaded clips.
Colour. A rich coloured Rose Gold.
Hallmarks. Every link on the chains is marked. There are marks on the chain ‘Jump rings’, the ‘sprung clips’ and ‘T’ bar. It has had use, but is still in excellent condition. The large jump ring, nearest to the ‘T’ bar, has the date letter, a small ‘t’ punched in it for 1918.
Dimensions. 18,3/4 “ [inches ] + plus 1,7/8th single chain length extension.
Weight. 39.76 gms
