A beautiful rich aged brown Bronze patination has developed on this Antique Patent Boy Scouts Whistle c1909, which is in great overall condition. This well patinated surface, a sign of untouched aged signs, has been gradually building up on the surface of the metal by the natural occurrence of oxidation, over a period of many years.
This Whistle is approx. 2,5/8” long [ 6.5cms ] and weighs 20.5gms, including the original steel split ring. There is some light use wear showing around the whistles mouthpiece. Also a couple of slight body dents. They do not detract from the charismatic aesthetics of this Antique piece of Boy Scouting memorabilia. See photos.
Stamped into the body fascia, top to bottom, is the words and numbers ‘’The Acme’’ - Boy Scouts – Pat.no.540164...and below the air outlet is stamped the word ‘Patent’.
