This beautifully large clean pair of Art Deco period, c1920-late 40's, handmade Oak turned, `u' shaped vase candlesticks, and their brightly chromed cast brass tops and sconces, epitomize the Art Deco period, exemplifying some of the key components of the Art Deco fashionable style. Because the Oak columns and round bases are handmade one can, on close scrutiny, see slight variations to the woodwork, which seems to me to be a nice little touch !
Size. Large. height 11,3/4" or 303mm. Base diameter 4, 11/16" or 119mm.
Weight. the pair 465gms. or 2lb 0.6oz.
Mark. No makers marks. However, there are original price tickets stuck to each base with 28/11 written on them. Note. I think the 28/11 refers to in vintage UK currency.
Condition. Extremely good. In my opinion they are still in their very best original shop purchase condition. The chromed brass fittings are sparkling and clean. The wood finishes are clean and hardly worn. They are just in fantastic condition !
