This is such an unusual piece of Jorge Wilmot Pottery! Stoneware with traditional Mexican designs and motifs! This piece has a bright high fired glaze and is a stoneware piece with traditional Mexican designs and motifs! The piece is a vessel that could be used to hold a candle or flowers... maybe even a flask or decanter of sorts with the addition of a cork! It is beautiful and such an unusual shape! High shine glaze is crackled and there is a chip on the rim of the opening! The details are so pretty, simple and decorative! Measures 8" wide by 4" deep and is about 4 1/2" tall. This piece is so versatile but looks wonderful, just as it is, and speaks for itself of a time when an artist enjoyed his work! Signed on the base!

His work is also known for its more austere, Oriental-inspired designs blended with Mexican motifs. His work has been widely sold and exhibited both in Mexico and abroad and he has trained and influenced generations of ceramicists at the school he established in Tonalá, Jalisco."
