Nice Vintage 1950's Blonde Wood With Pink & Gray Interior Silverware Flatware Storage Box Chest By Naken's for Sears Tradition
This vintage wood silverware storage case has a blonde finish on the exterior (the sides have more of a green hue while the top surface has more of a yellow tint) with art deco horizontal groove styling around the bottom edge. It has a brass finish pyramid shaped button handle on the front. The interior is lined with an unusual bubble gum pink and gray anti-tarnish material, very popular colors from the 1950's. Most of the material inside the lid is a thick white satin.
This case was made by Naken's for Sears Tradition silverware but the case would be perfect for any silverplated or sterling silver set with the modern blades (I don't think French blades would fit in the slots).
SIZE: Holds a service for 12. Knives are stored in the slots in the lid and there are 10 slots in the dividers in the lower section for stacking other pieces. There are 12 more slots in the front lower section which is a nice place to store your individual butter spreaders. Box measures 15-3/8" x 11-1/2" (includes button on front and hinges on back) x 3-1/2" tall.
Very nice condition overall! Finish is very good with just a few gray scuff lines on the top and some scattered light scratches that aren't seen unless closely examining. Interior lining is mostly super clean and in very good condition with just three small stains, one on top of a gray block in the divider bar and two on the pink butter spreader section in the front. There is a little wear to the brass finish on the button handle. Hinges are good and lid fits very snugly. No bad odors. Overall, a nice hard to find style box!
