Nice solid wood McGraw silverware storage case from the Art Deco era! Box has a cream painted top with black horizontally ribbed bottom section. Dovetailed rounded corners. Unusual offset red and silver metal ball handles display on the front. This case features a red anti-tarnish interior.
Holds a service for 12 with 12 knife slots in the lid and 10 slots in the main area.
This box measures 16-1/2" x 11-3/4" (includes the ball handles) x 4" tall. Please Note: This box was made to not stay open on its own. There is a sticker from the McGraw Box Company inside which says to keep the box closed at all times except when transferring your silver. So the box was designed not to stay open. :) Perfect storage box for your silverplate or sterling silver set!
Very Good condition on this storage box! The exterior has some minor marks with some wear to the black paint, mostly around the lower edge, and a little paint wear on the ball handles. The inside is also in very good condition; it does have some stains which are a little darker than the normal red color of the lining as shown; othewise very nice. The hinges are perfect and work well. No bad odors. Box lid closes snugly to keep your silverware tarnish free.
