O'Brien, a revision of Paths and Pathfinders by William S. Gray, Robert C. Pooley and Fred G. Walcott. Published by the famous Scott Foresman and Company. Copyright 1946. The cathedral edition was produced for use in the Catholic schools.
Although this book is way beyond Dick, Jane and Sally, it is filled with wholesome stories, both fiction and non-fiction, geared for the seventh grader. This being the Cathedral Edition, Rev. John O'Brien has has retained the most valuable features of the Paths and Pathfinders book while adding reading matter of a religious nature.
There are 528 pages and the book is divided into eight units. Unit One is 'Young Americans Today', Unit Two is 'Pathfinders of America', Unit Three is 'Wonder Workers', Unit Four is 'Tales of Fun and Fancy', Unit Five is 'Neighbors Around the World', Unit Six is 'Nature Adventures', Unit Seven is 'Heroes of Service' and Unit Eight is 'Famous Book Friends'. There is a glossary in the back of the book.

Near mint, like new condition on this book! Very clean covers with sharp corners. Inside front flyleaf page has a small brown mark. Pages are perfectly clean with just very light age toning. Corners are sharp. No rips or tears. No dog ears. Binding is strong and tight. No musty smells. Great!
A wholesome book that would still be fun to read today (by children and adults as well) and could even be used as a reader for the homeschooling family or just for extra practice.
