Fantastic and difficult to find console bowl with wing handles made by Fostoria Glass Company from 1939 to 1943. This is pattern #2563, also called Viking, one of Fostoria's giftware lines. Would make a great centerpiece attraction. The bowl is an oval shape, sleek and smooth, with some art deco vertical ribs at each end. The wing shaped handles really add some flair! Nicely polished on the bottom.
This does turn a deep yellow when exposed to a black light, attesting to its old age.
Measurements: Bowl without wings 9-1/2" x 6-3/4" x 3-1/2" tall. Bowl with wings 14-3/4" x 6-3/4" x 4-3/4" tall.
Weight: 3 pounds
Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. If you run your finger along the edge of the polished glass bottom, there are a few very minute rough spots, and, if you hold the bowl up to a bright light, there are a small amount of very light scratches in the very bottom of the bowl, all extremely minor. Glass is crystal clear with no cloudiness. Don't let this one fly away from you!
