Beautiful antique blown glass Victorian water pitcher with one matching tumbler. The glass is clear with raised enamel yellow and white flowers. There are also squiggly designs with raised dots. Besides these, there is a light gray satin band running around the center of the pieces that have raised orange enamel designs. There are gold stained leaves and trim both above and below the gray band. There is a little wear to the decoration but mostly to the gold stained designs on the tumbler. Both pieces have the interior optic ribbing in the glass.
This would be a wonderful addition to an antique decor i.e. guest room, bed and breakfast bedside table or nightstand piece.
Measurements: Pitcher is 10-1/4" tall, 4-1/4" across the bottom (which is narrower than the sides of the pitcher); about 8-1/2" wide spout plus handle. Tumbler is 4" tall and 2-7/8" wide across the top. The pitcher holds 2 quarts comfortably, reaching just to the narrowing well below the ruffled top. Tumbler holds 8 ounces comfortably.
There are no chips or cracks but the pitcher has a large rough unpolished/sharp pontil mark on the bottom which is very typical for blown glass of this age. Since the center part of the pitcher on the bottom is raised, it doesn't scratch the surface upon which it sits.
This is a gorgeous pair!
