Beautiful covered vegetable dish in the English Staffordshire semi-porcelain pattern called Savoy. Savoy is a floral aesthetic transfer ware pattern featuring ribbons and flowers. The shape is just lovely with embossed scroll work on both pieces and handles that curl around.
White semi-porcelain with blue transfer pattern.
Measurements: 11-1/2" long (including handles) x 7-1/4" x 5-3/8" tall (including lid).
Backstamp: Crown with a Scroll beneath reading "Johnson Bros"; "SAVOY Royal Semi-Porcelain" above the crown; "ENGLAND" below the scroll. There is also a raised Pat No. Apr.14.96 and English Registry No. 26004?. The English Registry number dates this piece to 1895.
Great condition with only some light crazing, a couple of blemishes inside the bowl and on the bottom of the 'feet'. No chips or cracks. Very clean and shiny!
