Large Vintage 18K Gold & 1 Carat TW Diamond Wreath Brooch. Dating to the 1950s or 1960s, this vintage mid-century brooch is larger than most at 1-7/8 wide by 2 inches tall. Leaves fashioned of brushed 18 karat gold are accented with six twinkling transitional cut diamonds set in platinum mounts and three platinum-topped swaths of pavé diamonds (32 total). The six larger diamonds total an estimated .64 carats. The 32 smaller are Old European cuts totaling an estimated .40 carat weight for a total weight of over 1 carat.
The pin stem and lever clasp (marked) are 14 karat gold. The brooch itself has been tested to 18 karat gold. Condition is exceptionally good. I note a tiny chip on one prong-set diamond and on one pave diamond. A remarkably showy piece with a substantial weight of 13 dwt / 20.2 grams.
