Antique Sterling Silver Match Safe Boy with Flute/Horn Motif
This delightful sterling silver match safe was made by the American firm of Frank M Whiting & Company. It features the repousse design of a boy playing a double flute in a garden. Perhaps mythical? Dimensions are 1-1/4 by 1-5/8 inches tall with a depth of approximately ¼ of an inch. The back is engraved with the inscription “Rosa to Mike 1898.” It is marked with the Whiting mark, Sterling and the number 57. Condition is very good with overall normal use light scratching and patina. No dents or dings.
