Circa 1928 featured is a Tiffin Glass Co. pattern #8153 early Twilite colored Fontaine rolled edge centerpiece bowl. This piece measures 13" in diameter and is 2-1/2" (H). Fontaine in Twilite, a light lavender color, is a highly sought after color and pattern and is used in table settings along with the matching Lenox "Fountain" pattern. This bowl was most probably used for floral arrangements as a table centerpiece. The bowl has a polished pontil - typical of Tiffin's early finer elegant glassware. It does have very light scratching under the foot but no scratching around the top of the rolled edge and no chips or cracks. A well cared for piece. The later Tiffin lavender color created by Tiffin is dichroic and spelled Twilight vs. Twilite. This earlier example is not dichroic and stays lavender in any lighting.
