Circa 1932 - 1953 featured is a scarce pair of Cambridge Glass Co. Crown Tuscan colored Dolphin epergnes pattern #53. Each epergne set has a Crown Tuscan Dolphin stemmed candlestick with extender, a Crystal Mount Vernon finialed 2-vase holder and two Crown Tuscan colored fluted vases. Measurements for each are 12" (H) with all parts in place, 10" (W) from vase to vase and 4-1/2" (W) at the round-cornered square scalloped foot. The Crown Tuscan color is nearly flesh colored where thick but opalescent where the glass is thinner and translucent. This color was developed for Cambridge by Henry Helmers and also for Aladdin as their Alacite color. The Crown Tuscan color predates Alacite by 10 years. All pieces are near mint without chips or cracks. An excellent example of early Cambridge - both quality and workmanship. You will not be disappointed.
