Circa 1935 - 1954 the Rose Point line, etch #1041, is probably the most extensive line produced by Cambridge. It was considered by many to be their most popular etch for young brides and is very sought after today to add to inherited & privately owned collections. Many pieces like this 5” trivet are considered hard-to-find especially with the Wallace Sterling holder. The trivet is approximately 5” in Diameter & 3/16” thick. It has 4 Rose Point medallions surrounded by roses etched beneath and a small clear area at the center. The Sterling holder is 6.75” in diameter with a recessed area that the glass trivet fits within. Condition of both glass trivet & sterling holder is excellent - only light scratching to the sterling holder from polishing - no dents or breaks and no chips, cracks or repairs to the glass. It does have a hand polished edge and the Rose Point etch is reflected (like a mirror) within the Silver holder giving it a double mirror affect - quite beautiful. I personally use mine to place special pieces on in my cabinet or for holding a bottle of vino. (D-69)
