Beautifully Opaque, white and shiny they are in the style of Renaissance Italian Majolica, with a translucent glaze which shows beautifully. The bowls, shaped like a flower with a raised Rose bud and Leaf decoration on each side of their scalloped bowls are simply superb. The interior of the bowls and matching scallop under plates exhibit the highly recognizable raised sunflower floral motif coveted by Majolica collectors world wide
Made in Italy and attributed to the early Majolica houses of Ginori or Cantagalli, this beautiful set displays an unsurpassed elegance from other Majolica available today. In a white faience tin glaze and marked "Italy" with registry number 233 in blue on the bowls and 309 in blue on the under plates, ....Ready to be enjoyed and displayed for many years to come.
