GEORGE JAN ( Geo) POGGENBEEK (DUTCH, 1853-1903) OIL PAINTING on BOARD

"Ducks at Rest By Pond"

This very fine antique painting by the Dutch Artist George Poggenbeek is SUPERB.

Bright and flawlessly executed, Mr. Poggenbeek shows us a lazy, dreamy afternoon...the wind gently blowing the trees, the duck at rest beside the pond.... the blue sky showing a few billowy white clouds, a large tree dipping into the water.... all casting a cool light on the marvelous landscape. The level of detail Stunning...every blade of grass , the tree a profusion of branches in marvelous greens. The painting is bright....the tree, the ducks in the water all captured with the most intense clarity.

Untouched, it is free of any restoration. This Stunning work is a fine example by George Jan Poggenbeek.

The board wood , is inscribed on the back in black script by the artist.

The board approx.11" x 6.5" is in excellent vintage condition ...free of cracks or marks. The frame is in very good original condition.. with minor abrasions which is what one might expect, and I mention only for clarity.
