"THE GIFT" by CANADIAN ARTIST, RITA BRIANSKY : 1925 POLAND
This fine example from the original, by Ms. Briansky captures the very essence of the child. Finely executed it is charged with her incredible poetic sensitivity. Natural in it's form, amongst the swirls of paint we see a young girl unwrapping her "Gift" in a velvety softness of light and shade....light that is reflective, light that is absorbed, light that is charged with the child's thoughts as she opens her "Gift". I have no doubt that this magical moment actually occurred, for Ms. Briansky, sketched her friends and especially her daughters.. preferring to paint people she knew very well in order to interpret dreamy moods and the feelings that lie within them..
