A lovely full size tea pot with a fruits pattern, of green and pink apples, red strawberries and white blossoms. The rim is fluted. The blue banner back stamp is for James Sadler & Sons Ltd. England with a likely time of production to be around the 1950's. The company goes back to it's origin in 1882 and the company mark for this tea pot first went into use around 1937- 1940.
In gold paint written on the bottom are the letter "C" and number "5"., a pattern code.
It was a lucky day to find this Sadler pot in such fine condition.
It holds 40.0 fluid ounces, or five 8.0 ounce cups. The condition is excellent all around with a strong glazing intact. There are no chips, cracks, discolorations or crackling. It is clean inside and out. The gold trim is very good everywhere with only light rub wear of the gold paint on the top of the lid handle noted(pictured).
The dimensions are 9.5 inches wide (handle to spout) by 5.75 inches high. The weight is 1.0 Lb. 9.0 Oz.
