The Fenton Pink Blossom custard satin glass line was made from 1972 until 1985. The 11.0 inch bud vase was a limited production only made in the year 1978. There are not many available. The same 7.0 inch bud vase was produced for more than eight years and should not be confused with this tall version while shopping elsewhere. It was originally named "Pink Anemone" but was changed five years later.
An interesting feature is the "icing" added to embellish the pink flowers. It was made with particles of glass resembling fine sugar. The icing sparkle can still be seen on this vase forty years after it's production.
Identification: Fenton Pink Blossom No. 7458-PY, year 1978. It is signed on the bottom " Hand Painted by S. Kirby". It originally came with a foil sticker which is now gone.
The height measures to 11 1/8 inch. The custard satin glass is a pale soft yellow color. The condition is perfect. No wear on it seen or any other flaws to note. This is offered at twenty percent or more below book price. A fine addition to one's Fenton collection.
