A fine Carvell Hall by Briddell meat carving set of a knife and fork with ivory color Lustrex handles. The company was originally founded in 1895 on the east U.S. coast. Carvell Hall is the place. The Briddells were the founders. The Lustrex handles are made from a hard polystyrene resin which was guaranteed by the manufacturer to withstand hot water. The Lustrex product trade name was registered before 1940 by a different maker. I believe the handles are also chrome plated.
The time of origin for this set is a little unclear as the company underwent bankruptcy and later a takeover. Carvell Hall reopened again for business in 1990 but not with the Briddell name as I understand it. Both pieces are engraved with the name Carvell Hall by Briddell. The estimated time of origin for this set is 1970 to 1980 before the bankruptcy. The condition is outstanding as I have found no flaws or sign of use.
Other features are that they are footed for ease of use at the table. The knife is 13.0 “ long. The fork is 10.5 “ long.
