This most charming BABY EVELYN is a rare and highly sought after doll...
She is very hard to find and this little one is in incredible condition -- with RARE Painted Eyes -- and brunette MOLDED HAIR. She is a perfectly-sized baby at 18" but big enough to easily tug at your heart strings with her beautiful BRIGHT blue eyes and soft countenance. BABY Evelyn is marked on the nape of her neck, "Effanbee / Baby Evelyn." Her 5-part composition head and body retain all original paint -- down to her fingers and little toes -- paint is smooth and has NO CRAZING; ... one of the finest examples of Evelyn I have ever seen.
Her firmly stuffed body is clean with the expected age patina -- sturdy and completely intact. She has soft brown molded curls to her little baby head, with just enough gentle rubs at the very back to lend character and age to such a wonderfully preserved dolly. She has bright blue EARLY painted eyes, and her vivid painted features light up her face. Her face is nearly perfect ~ my photographs illustrate her valued condition well... no disappointments here.
Baby Evelyn comes dressed in her original Effanbee factory blue cotton dimity dress, replaced white cotton slip, original soft flannel undershirt, and white cotton onesie style bloomers. The underclothing is in played with condition but sturdy, clean. Her gorgeous blue dress has delicate and colorful Spring flowers embroidered at the lower skirt in three sprigs; French Val lace trim at the neck and sleeves; dress fastens at the back neckline with a single tiny silver hand-sewn snap. I have added a MARVELOUS cotton and wool Viyella fabric coat with AMAZING embroidery, and tiny pearl buttons that match the knit sweater and bonnet set I included as well. This coat is made from a special pattern issued for Effanbee dolls as was the company's custom; Mama, aunties and grandmas tailored fine clothing like this to add to their special little girls' dolly trousseau....as you can see, Baby Evelyn displays incredibly!
