Superb Effanbee Dy-Dee Dolls, Clothing and Accessories
Adorable and Gorgeous 19" Rare Madame Alexander baby doll in factory original outfit
Happy and sweet describe this darling baby's countenance with her big open smile and sparkling blue eyes.
This 'mystery' Madame Alexander baby comes dressed in her original TAGGED factory outfit -- soft white cotton batistte dress with matching slip, white flannel undershirt, pink flannel coat and matching bonnet with maribou feather trim; replaced oilcloth shoes and rayon socks.
Her clothing is in excellent condition with no stains. BOTH dress and coat have their ALEXANDER blue-and-white tags sewn into the back neck seams.
Baby seems to have 'no name' as in reviewing my scores of doll books did not yield her name, with only her clothing to identify her origins. Her facial character and the quality of her composition mirror the Effanbee Bubbles dolls that were so popular in the 1920s through the 1930s -- big smile, two big dimples, blond high-relief molded curls, molded tongue and two white shiney 'baby' teeth, and gorgeous BLUE tin litho sleep eyes with their full complement of thick, even brush lashes. Her entire head is just about mint with barely any sign of her age of near 90 years now with NO CRAZING... just amazing condition.
Her high quality composiiton has beautiful and vibrant coloring... a very special baby doll to cuddle and call your own.
