AMAZING find ... ALL ORIGINAL in near MINT CONDITION
NOT A REPRODUCTION and NOT A REPAINT
Rarely, rarely do you find these lovely dark brown Patsy dolls, and when you do they are either heavily crazed, cracked and/or peeling... or even completely restored. There are some restored Patsy dolls that have come up for sale in the recent past, BUT I have never seen a restored one that captures and matches the qualities of the brush strokes reflected in the face of an original Effanbee African American doll -- and this Patsy Joan HAS IT ALL.
Standing 15" tall, she is nearly flawless and wears her original Effanbee red-and-white polka dot dress with matching bonnet. This set is super rare in itself as I don't believe this set has been documented previously. It DID come originally on this doll...
PATSY JOAN IS ALL ORIGINAL -- including hangtag -- with NO RESTORATIONS, no repaints -- as she was purchased off the toy store shelf so many decades ago now. Nearly perfect condition -- little to NO crazing -- wearing her darling sundress that has attached panties, and a matching wide-brimmed sunbonnet. Her shoes and socks appear to have never been removed. I did carefully launder her clothing to lighten the white bodice and bonnet brim and lift the brown age-related stains.
Perfect open-close glassene sleep eyes, with a full complement of brush lashes -- thick and even. All painted facial features are present with no rubs to the face paint.
She is immaculately clean and ready to join your vintage Patsy Family and/or African American doll collection.
PERFECT Red Oilcloth side-snap shoes, and silk socks.
Truly she is a doll that will steal your heart!
