I have only seen two REAL Dy-Dee buggies in all the years I have been collecting -- this and one other. The other one was the classic Whitman wooden design made for Effanbee with marked Dy-Dee wheel hubs. There are others being offered on the market today that claim to be original Dy-Dee carriages, but Whitman made generic buggies as an after-market value for all the dolls made in that era that look similar, but not specific to Dy-Dee. IF it is a real Dy-Dee carriage, it will have Dy-Dee's name on the wheels and buggy itself.

ALL ORIGINAL -- NO RESTORATIONS

THIS is the ONLY WICKER DY-DEE CARRIAGE known to exist today. AND, the wicker is in MINT CONDITION with no breaks, intact paint, and no distortion. There are no breaks or splits in the wicker... just AMAZING. It must have been stored very carefully in an old-fashioned big attic to have survived so beautifully for so many decades -- it came out of an estate in the mid-west. The only signs of expected wear are in the paint on the metal -- carriage handle, frame, and wheels have paint wear. The buggy could be easily repainted, but I chose to leave it as found, treasuring the acquired patina that so lovingly states it is from a by-gone era.

Measurements: 25" long with handle; 23" tall with hood bonnet; 18" long without handle; 10" wide; 24" tall to top of black wooden handle.

The wheel caps each have 'Dy-Dee' deeply engraved in black. The carriage bonnet has the DY-Dee logo on both sides at each hinge. There is a lovely brown painted design on each side of the buggy, with no apparent wear. OUTSTANDING!

There are TWO celluloid windows -- one on each side and both are completely intact and clear. Little Dy-Dee can look out as she is pushed along by Mom or perhaps her Nanny in the park.

The inside of the buggy has the original cloth accessory holder where you can store your baby's things. I have shown them filled with a bunny toy, nursing bottle, and powder as examples, but those 3 items are not included with the purchase of the buggy.

The back of the carriage has a wooden panel that can be adjusted in TWO positions to allow baby to sit up or lay down.

The wheels are still round and intact -- good for many miles of smooth and comfortable buggy rides.

I have shown my own 15" and 20" Dy-Dee babies as models in the buggy. Buggy will fit all size Dy-Dee babies including 20" Dy-Dee Lou.
