A French faience dog sculpture by Art Nouveau artist Emile Galle (1846-1904). A whimsical ceramic figure of a seated pug or French bulldog, with glass eyes, hand painted with ornate decoration consisting of a lily motif at the back of the head and wearing a pink floral kimono with beautifully rendered floral sprays including iris, roses, lilies, and tulips. A locket containing a portrait of a dog is suspended from the collar. Marked with a black "F" in script on the underside of one foot, and a red "H" on another. Light wear to the decoration, firing crack evident at the interior. Please refer to photos for more details. Circa 1880-1900. 12.25"H x 7.5"W x 4.5"D
