An 18th century Spanish Baroque desk, or writing table made of solid walnut with lyre shaped legs joined by wrought iron stretchers. Hand-carved decoration across the front and the back. Three dovetailed drawers with original iron drawer pulls and keyholes but no locks or keys. The top is made from a single 1-1/2" thick plank of walnut and is slightly warped. Beautiful grain and nice character to the wood with some rough edges and a split on the top from the right. Waxed patina. Original iron work. Mitered top and pegged construction. Finished on all four sides enabling it to be used as a centre table, sofa table, console or desk. Circa 1720-1740. 65"W x 28"D x 31"H. Clearance of apron is 24-1/2". It is recommended this table be disassembled for shipping. Minor restorations on legs.
