A French Santon de Provence of a fisherman in a bright yellow slicker and hat, traditional striped sweater, woolen pants and black boots. He holds a basket of his daily catch with his fishing net draped around his neck. The faces, hands and feet are made of clay. All handmade. Stamped on the clay base: Santonneri. Circa 1980. Santons were first created around the time of the French Revolution to represent ordinary villagers as part of the nativity scene. 11"H x 4"W x 3"D
